THE RULE OF 72
How long could it take
to double?
Divide 72 by an assumed annual growth rate to estimate the number of years it could take money to double.
One number.
A useful starting point.
For example, 72 ÷ 6 = 12. At a hypothetical constant 6% annual rate, doubling would take about 12 years.
This is a rough mathematical estimate, not a forecast, guaranteed return or product illustration. Actual results vary. Taxes, fees and changes in returns are not included.
